Volkswagen has finally pulled the wraps off its limited edition Golf R 333 model. The German carmaker has limited the production run to, yes you guessed it, only 333 cars.

Under the bonnet is the Golf R’s 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with peak power claimed at 245kW and a torque figure of 420Nm, the highest of any Golf model yet, the carmaker says. A seven-speed DSG is the obvious choice that sends power to all four wheels, Motor1 reports.

The all-wheel-drive Golf R 333 features the standard model’s drift mode function, however for the special edition model Volkswagen has fitted the hatchback with an R Performance exhaust system from Akrapovič with titanium rear silencers.

The Golf R 333 rides on distinctive black 19-inch Estoril wheel rims with semi-slick tyres, perfect for the Nurburgring. Those who will be fortunate enough to own this special model will get to experience the car’s increased top speed of 270km/h.
