“Around 11:00 on Friday morning, #EMPD nabbed a Gauteng traffic officer and his co-perpetrator along Madiba Drive in Thembisa.
“This followed a high-speed chase as a result of reckless driving of a white VW Polo sedan, with false registration plates and fitted with blue lights and siren.”
It furthermore said a hijacked man, handcuffed, shot in the abdomen, and kept pinned down against his will, was found in what seemed to be a police vehicle.

The EMPD said the hijacked NP 200 vehicle was later discovered in Kaalfontein, Midrand.
Meanwhile, four alleged cable thieves were arrested earlier this week.
“On Tuesday, 26 April, 2022, when law enforcers pounced on four male suspects found inside a trench in Mayfield Extension 14, near Daveyton.
“Allegedly the men were in the process of stealing the City’s 11Kv cable that supplies power to the area. Damage to the cable had already plunged the entire area into darkness.”
The City reiterates its stern warning to the criminals who continuously vandalize the City’s electrical infrastructure that they will be caught and will have to face the full might of the law.
It furthermore warned that City law enforcers are on high alert and fully equipped to put a stop to the damaging crime of cable theft across the City.
The damaged 11Kv cable is valued at over R20 000, with repair costs amounting to more than R12 000.
