FOUR-YEAR-OLD BOY ELECTROCUTED

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi said the four-year-old was allegedly walking from his aunt’s home in the same village with his siblings when tragedy struck.

“The children ran home to inform their mother that their younger brother was shocked by an open live wire that was lying on the ground,” said the police spokesperson.

The four-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel. An inquest has been opened for further investigation.

The Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe was saddened by the incident and urged residents to report illegal electricity connections to prevent incidents such as this.
