Four people arrested for kidnapping and murder

Police arrested four people for kidnapping and murder after the body of a man was found in the Olifants River on Thursday

Police arrested four suspects between the ages of 23 and 38 for the kidnapping and murder of 30-year-old Roman Marobela.

His bruised body was found in the Olifants River (Lepelle) at Lebowakgomo policing area on Thursday, 23 February 2023.

Suspects arrested for kidnapping and murder

Witnesses reported that people who were covering up the crime claimed the victim had unexpectedly jumped into the river and drowned.

However, after receiving information, Police investigations led to the arrest of the suspects who allegedly killed Marobela before throwing him into the river.

The suspects reportedly visited the victim’s bleeding father on Wednesday, 22 February 2023,.

This at around 11:00 in Tswaing village in Magoleng Ga-Mphahlele.

They claimed Marobela had stolen money from them and offered to pay them back on Saturday.

They refused and left with him.

After reports that the victim had jumped into the river, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, ordered full investigations into the incident and for the culprits to be urgently arrested.

Thanks to a well-coordinated investigation that uncovered the entire scenario of a staged drowning, the suspects were ultimately arrested.
