WhatsApp, which boasts more than 2billion users worldwide has four MAJOR changes that you need to know about.
If you’re a WhatsApp user, you’ve most definitely found yourself added to groups you really don’t want to be a part of.
Yes, we have all been there. Some of these groups are created by friends and family, and you stay in the group just because that would be less awkward than leaving the group and letting everyone know you didn’t want to be there in the first place.
We have some great news. According to WaBetaInfo, the messaging platform is working on a new feature that would allow WhatsApp users to leave groups silently.
See the screenshot:
This means only you and the WhatsApp group admin will be notified that you’ve left the group. Other members won’t be informed about your exit.
WhatsApp currently informs everyone in a group if a member leaves.
Group admins should always be notified about what happens in their groups, so it is needed to show them who exited a group.
WaBetaInfo furthermore reports that the feature is under development and will soon land on the app’s beta version for Android and iOS.
WhatsApp is also working on other new improvements: the ability to generate rich previews when sharing a link as a text status update.

As you can see in this screenshot, you can notice the difference between the current text status update and the new one that will be released in the future: WhatsApp is generating a rich preview by adding more details to the shared link.
The third change is that emoji reactions are now available on the latest version of the app.
“We’re excited to share that emoji reactions are now available on the latest version of the app. Reactions are fun, fast, and they reduce overload in groups too. We’ll continue improving them by adding an even broader range of expressions in the future.”
WhatsApp also said in addition, you can now send files within WhatsApp up to 2GB in size at a time, protected by end-to-end encryption.

“This is an increase from the previous limit of 100MB and we think will be helpful for collaboration among small businesses and school groups. We recommend using WiFi for larger files and we’ll display a counter while uploading or downloading to let you know how long your transfer will take.”
And lastly, you will be able to add up to 512 people to a group.
“One of the top requests we’ve consistently received is the option to add more people to a chat, so now we’re slowly rolling out the ability to add up to 512 people to a group. Building private, safe, and secure communities takes work and we think this series of improvements will help people and groups stay close to one another.”
