On Wednesday morning, 8 March, a telephone pole being erected fell on top of a farm worker outside Potchefstroom.
The worker is in his 40s and this caused critical injuries.

Telephone pole falls on farm worker
A Mooirivier Beskerming first responder and ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at 11:23.
They found the man lying unresponsive with a critical head injury.

The paramedics provided Advanced Life Support interventions, intubated and ventilated him.
They then before transporting him via Medical Helicopter to a private hospital for further care.
