The mysterious philanthropist BI Phakathi has warned his followers not to fall victim of bogus accounts asking for money on social media.

It still remains a mystery as to who the famous but faceless philanthropist BI Phakathi is, who has changed the lives of the underprivileged by documenting his good deeds on social media.
WHAT DOES BI PHAKATHI DO ON THE INTERNET?
Over the years, BI Phakathi, who happens to be multi-lingual, shot to fame after he trended almost every week for his selfless deed of reaching out to ordinary citizens and helping them overcome their struggles through monetary support.

It doesn’t matter what race, colour or creed defines you because he sees none of that. When spotted by this mysterious Good Samaritan, a smile with bag loads of food and money, is something he definitely leaves you with, and of course a prayer.
However, BI Phakathi’s time off on social media has allowed opportunistic criminals to create fake accounts intending to scam people. Fortunately, Phakathi was quick to notice the shenanigan and promptly put out a warning statement.

FAMOUS PHILANTHROPIST PUTS OUT THE WARNING
He wrote:
“Warning: Please be warned BI Phakathi will not inbox you for forex, WhatsApp or competition in a personal account, the only account is this one with a blue badge verified. DO NOT Send your account or credit card details to anyone.
“BI Phakathi doesn’t ask money from people, please warn others, I will do a live video soon, be safe family.”

HELPING SINGLE DAD WITH A HAND UP
In one of the most remarkable videos he has put out, BI Phakathi is seen coming to the rescue of a young father who is caring for his infant son. The man reveals that his wife – the mother of the child – has died and that he is struggling to cope.
After giving the father and son a lift to his destination, Phakathi gifts them two bags of groceries.
Already overcome by emotion, the man then weeps when the Good Samaritan starts handing him wads of cash. “I can’t do it. This is too much”, the man says after hesitantly taking the money.
