At the time of publishing late on Thursday, 22 December, there has been no confirmation from Eskom that there will be any change to their ongoing Stage 4 load shedding.
With Mzansi set for a four-day long festive weekend after Tuesday, 27 December was also confirmed as a public holiday, there is every chance long-suffering South Africans will be frustrated yet again without lights.

Power utility Eskom announced earlier this week that Stage 4 load shedding would continue until further notice.

In a tweet, Eskom said: “Stage 6 loadshedding will be implemented from 20:00 tonight until 05:00 tomorrow morning. Then Stage 4 loadshedding will resume at 05:00 tomorrow morning until further notice”.

Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town also updated it’s schedule until Friday – with no confirmation either regarding the Christmas long weekend.

City of Cape Town electricity customers are, at the time of publishing, on Stage 3 load shedding which will continue until 22:00 on Thursday.
Stage 4 will then kick in 22:00 and continue until 05:00 on Friday.
Friday will see Stage 3 between 05:00 and 22:00, followed by Stage 4 from 22:00 to 05:00 on Saturday.
