A man was found entrapped in a vehicle wreckage on the N1 near Botha Road, Centurion.

The car overturned numerous times before coming to a rest

Emer-G-Med paramedics said they responded to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision at approximately 6:15 on the morning of Sunday, 28 August. Upon arrival, paramedics were met with a vehicle that was found to have left the roadway.

It was reported that the car overturned a number of times before it came to a rest in a culvert adjacent to the roadway. A closer inspection resulted in medics finding a male, approximately 30 years old, ‘severely’ entrapped in the wreckage.

Fire and rescue services worked hard to free the entrapped man

Fire and Rescue services worked for almost one hour to free the entrapped man. They sued specialised hydraulic equipment including the jaws of life. Emer-G-Med said once the man was freed, he was quickly transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

“Once free he (was) transported rapidly by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care,” said Emer-G-Med paramedics.
