Prof receives threats after disputing Afriforum’s “white genocide” stats

North West University law professor, Elmien du Plessis is claiming to have been a recipient of angry emails, after publicly arguing that farm murder stats presented by AfriForum do not equate to “white genocide“.

Members of the civil rights group’s top brass are currently touring the United States, in an effort to bring awareness to what it terms the South African government’s “no care attitude” towards farm murders, as well as to lobby against the recently passed motion on land expropriation.

Responding to a Tweet from AfriForum deputy CEO Ernst Roets, who’s currently on the tour with the group’s cheif, Kallie Kriel, du Plessis brought out the receipts, in disputing that the  numbers released by the group are a mere drop in the ocean, when equated with actual genocide.

In 2016/2017 there were 74 farm murders (this includes murders on small-holdings, which some people leave out of the calculation in other stats).

According to Talk Radio 702, du Plessis’ Twitter thread has not gone down well with some of the group supporters, as she has received a number of threatening emails and messages since stating her views on the subject.
