Eight-month-old baby found alive on dead mother’s chest
A dead woman was found lying in a Laezonia field. She had been shot in the chest. First responders found an unharmed baby on her body.

A woman was found dead in a field on Friday night, 27 May. According to the first responders, her infant daughter was reportedly lying on her chest.
BABY FOUND UNHARMED ON DEAD MOTHER’S CHEST
ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene in Laezonia, Gauteng at approximately 20:00.
Medics saw that the dead woman was lying in a field and assessments revealed that she had succumbed to a gunshot wound to her chest.
“Nothing could be done for her, and she was declared dead,” said the emergency service.
The paramedics were further told that a baby – believed to be eight months old – was found lying on the mother’s chest when the first responders arrived. The child was unharmed.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown. The police are conducting further investigations.
The baby was taken in by the local authorities to be placed in a safe haven.
