A New home? NASA discovers 7 n

Overnight, the good space exploring people of NASA held their own press conference. The group announced the discovery of not one or two, but seven earth- sized planets orbiting a single star in what’s called the “Trappist -1 system.”

So what do you need to know about these new planets? Well NASA says depending on conditions all seven of the plants could have their own clean water, that means there is a very good chance that these planets could have their own form of life. These planets are also so close together that if you lived on one planet you would see the other large and clear in the sky.

Don’t get too excited just yet though, the system where the planets are is roughly 40 light years away. Currently, even NASA don’t have the technology to travel anywhere close to fast enough to get there in a human life cycle.

NASA says the next step for them is to begin researching and testing the oxygen levels of the planets. Find out how they do it in the video below.

NASA & TRAPPIST-1- A Treasure Trove of Planets Found

We're celebrating a new discovery! A treasure trove of new planets were found around a tiny, nearby, ultra-cool dwarf star called TRAPPIST-1. Three of the seven planets are firmly in the habitable zone. Details: http://go.nasa.gov/2lvVN7G
