A level 4 warning was issued by the South African Weather Services (SAWS) for DISRUPTIVE rain on Monday in several areas in the country.
According to the SAWS, flooding of roads, low-lying bridges and settlements (mainly informal), and possible damages to bridges are possible.

“Danger to life (fast-flowing streams / deep water), especially in low-lying areas.”

It furthermore warned that poor driving conditions, especially during the Monday morning commute, with significant disruption of traffic flow due to flooding or pooling of roads.

“Postpone travel arrangements until it is safer to travel. Avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams. Monitor the weather conditions and if need be, identify areas to safely store valuable items from flood water.”
