High excitement spread across Mzansi on Tuesday. The digital vaccination certificates system was spotted on the Department of Health’s website, but the first tests failed. The result forced the health office to release a statement to suggest we must relax, it was just a test phase.

DIGITAL VACCINE CERTIFICATES: BE PATIENT SAYS HEALTH

The department said it met a flood of complaints that the system was not doing its purpose: download and access COVID-19 digital vaccination certificates.

“The department of health has been inundated with public and media inquiries about challenges they face when trying to download and access Covid-19 digital vaccination certificates,” said spokesperson Foster Mohale.

Mohale stressed that the department’s technology professionals are busy processing all likely problems in the system before the official launch next week. The system requires added time ahead of officially going live.

“The department is currently at the testing phase of the system to troubleshoot all possible glitches ahead of the official launch later this week. Thus, the system is not yet officially functional in a live environment which will enable vaccinated individuals to access and download certificates.”

SOME LUCKY PEOPLE MANAGED TO GET CERTIFICATES

The department assured that the digital vaccination certificates will be introduced periodically – although a few lucky locals have already found success in the test phase system.

Additionally, South Africans are urged to be patient.

“The development and release of fully-fledged Covid-19 vaccination certificates will be phased-in over time.”

“We are aware that a few lucky individuals managed to access the system and download their vaccination certificates.”

“Thus, we request the public to exercise patience while we implement the final refinement as we prepare to officially launch the first version of the Covid-19 vaccination digital certificate,” the brief concluded.
