A deputy principal was shot and killed in his school office in Duduza, Nigel according to Gauteng Education MEC Phanyaza Lesufi who tweeted on Tuesday.

Education spokesperson Steve Mabona confirmed this.

 “It is with great sadness to inform you of a Edalinceba Primary School (principal) in Duduza who was shot dead in his office at school at about 11am this morning. MEC Lesufi is on his way there.”

According to Duduza police spokesperson, Sergeant Harry Manaka the perps gained entry into the school by claiming to be electricians and asked to see the deputy principal.

“Before the deceased reached the reception area to attend to them, he was hit by four bullets to his upper body.

“He was declared dead at the scene. It is alleged the suspects arrived in a Mazda 323 but left by foot. The motive for the murder is still unknown and no one has been arrested. We are investigating a case of murder. We are calling on anyone with information about the whereabouts or anything that could lead the police to the suspects, to inform the  on 10111 or (011) 730-4700/4850,”  Manaka said.
