Community members noticed a body floating in the Kgoptjane River, which police divers and the Maluti-a-Phofung Fire Department later retrieved.

Community members report a body floating in a river
The Namahadi police received a report about the body on Thursday, 23 February 2023 at around 10:00.
The decomposed body was retrieved by Sergeant Mabe of the Phuthaditjhaba Diving Unit, alongside Maluti-a-Phofung divers.

The person’s identity is unknown, however, he was wearing a black long-sleeve T-shirt and black track pants.
Anyone who suspects that they may have lost a family member or relative should visit the Phuthaditjhaba State Mortuary to help with identification.
