Watch: Catching fire? DA councillor’s ridiculous campaign ad goes viral

Uhm… This DA councillor continues to release the most INSANE campaign adverts. This time he is holding fire.

DA Angus McKenzie

We’ve said it before. Election season is silly season. As politicians try and get extra creative to win votes, they make all kinds of promises and say all kinds of things. But holding computer-generated fireballs in your hand like a budget movie? That we have never seen before, until DA councillor Angus McKenzie delivered.

Angus McKenzie and the DA make a campaign movie

DA man Angus McKenzie is the ward councillor for Bonteheuvel in Cape Town. But over the course of this election season, he’s become known to South Africans outside of his community. Well, that may be purely for the fact that he has made everything from rap songs, to ghostbusters parodies to boost his campaign.

This time though, he’s delivered a parody of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and turned it into the DA Fresh Prince of Bontas.

It’s everything from cringe to hilarious. But it definitely gets the public talking about the DA. Clearly, McKenzie’s community loves it too. Take a look and stick around for the fake fire towards the end.

Angus McKenzie’s campaign creativity

And if the Fresh Prince of Bontas isn’t enough for you, don’t worry. McKenzie’s music video ad he released earlier this month, is OVER 5 MINUTES LONG. So if you want to judge the DA on its rapping ability, here’s your chance. Because if you’re going to judge party leader John Steenhuisen on his dancing, it’s not going to go too well for the blue party.
