South Africa recorded 5 931 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has said on Sunday.
This brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 819 945.
This increase of 5 931 new COVID-19 cases represents a 14.5 % positivity rate.
A further 76 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 83 419 to date.

KwaZulu-Natal is still in the lead with the majority of new cases: 1 710 (29%), followed by Western Cape with 1 349 new cases (23%), the Eastern Cape with 871 (15%), and then the Free State with 541 new cases (9%) provinces.
