Horrific head-on collision leaves one dead and three injured in Polokwane

A woman has been killed while three men were injured in a head-on-collision on the N1 northbound near the Mall of the North in Bendor Park, Polokwane, Limpopo. 

Two light motor vehicles reportedly collided on Friday night, 17 June. 

COLLISION LEAVES ONE DEAD

ER24 paramedics and another service responded to the scene around 18h00. 

According to ER24, on scene, medics found one light motor vehicle in the middle of the road while the other car was on the side of the road. 

A woman was found lying trapped inside one vehicle while three men were walking around on the scene.

“Medics assessed the patient and found that the woman had already succumbed to her numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for her, and she was declared dead.

“The three other men were assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries. The men were treated and later transported by another service to a nearby hospital.”

ONE CRITICALLY INJURED AFTER BEING KNOCKED DOWN

In a separate incident, a 42-year-old man suffered critical injuries after being knocked down at the intersection of the R55 and Drakensberg Road in the Olievenhoutbosch area of Centurion on Thursdsay evening.

According to ER24, the man was found lying on the side of the road behind the light-motor-vehicle involved. He was found in a critical condition and required Advanced Life Support interventions. He was then transported through to hospital for further care.

“The driver and passenger of the vehicle were found to have not sustained any injuries. The exact circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown to ER24, however law enforcement were on the scene for further investigations.”
