On Monday 14 November, national power supplier Eskom confirmed that Stage 2 and 3 load shedding will be implemented alternatively until further notice.
Eskom said this is due to high levels of breakdowns as well as depleted emergency generation reserves.
Eskom said it currently has 4 177MW on planned maintenance while another 16 922MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns. The City of Tshwane has updated its load shedding schedule for Friday 18 November.
