As the seasons change, so do the trends which define them. Having clothing which suits those trends makes you look and feel fashionable. Unlike clothing, jewellery belongs with many different outfits and jewellery is wearable for more than just a handful of times a season.

It’s this philosophy about jewellery which Caroline Scheufele focuses on in her role as creative designer of Chopard. Her design of friendlier, more versatile pieces has driven the development of many of the famous brands designed originally by her mother, Karin Scheufele.

Each Chopard collection tells a story through the jewels and metals used to create each piece. The Happy Diamonds collection is built with the jewels floating in front of the watch face representing water droplets flying off from a waterfall.

Caroline Scheufele has talked at length about many of the pieces in her collections in various interview with the world’s press. Let’s take a look at Chopard and how their jewellery matches the seasons of the year.

Spring

Spring is a confusing season when choosing jewellery to wear. The interchangeable weather of this season makes it difficult to style outfits and choose jewellery which can be worn all day.

Think about the style of outfits you commonly wear – during the Spring months, you might be tempted to stick with the jewellery which you would wear during winter. However, there are still options which bridge the gap between winter and summer with style and grace.

Spring Necklaces

One style which is back in fashion is layering necklaces on top of clothes. During spring, the winter turtleneck begins to be gradually replaced with more classical summer dresses as the weather allows. This gives you an opportunity to layer large necklaces against these high-necked jumpers and dresses.

One of Caroline Scheufele’s favourite pieces to create this look with is the Chopardissimo. This is a bold, block colour gold or silver ring which hangs like a pendant, drawing the eye onto a simple jumper or dress. This timeless look is wearable by all women and it adds an elegant touch to a simpler look.

Spring Rings

Wearing a ring in spring is a must especially when gloves are no longer necessary to brace the cold of winter. Rings can be as simple or as adorned as the owner pleases – there is an option that suits the personal preferences of any wearer.

For Caroline Scheufele, her high jewellery collections represent the best of the spring season. In her ‘For You’ collection, she takes inspiration from the flowers of spring to produce a floral design out of heart cut gemstones. Having a vibrant ring adds a pop of colour to an outfit that won’t be covered up with other layers.

Summer

The heat of the summer brings people outside with airy, light clothing to help combat the heat. During this time, it’s important to make the most of the skin which is on show with colourful pieces which will catch the light of the sun.

This is why Caroline Scheufele created the Magical Setting collection which hides how the gems are set into the metal. This one of a kind design makes the most of light reflected onto this collection which includes earrings, necklaces, and rings.

The beauty of this design is that each gemstone can be viewed from the top or the side without hiding its full lustre. Caroline was quoted by Baselworld as saying “I have always dreamt of creating a jewellery collection in which you can no longer see the gold or the titanium.”

With short sleeves also being popular in the summer, bangles make an ideal piece of jewellery to be worn along the wrist. Caroline is fond of wearing Happy Hearts bangles according to Solitaire.

Autumn

After the summer season ends, the focus moves from vibrancy and colour onto more neutral tones. For some years, these tones have mainly been cooler colours with platinum more popular in recent years. However, this year’s trend is for yellow-gold jewellery.

Autumn Rings

Happy Diamonds, created in 1976, shows the true imagination of Chopard, and it contains many of the more unique yellow-gold rings made by Chopard – these yellow-golds mean the collection is already on trend.

The Happy Diamonds Icons ring is shaped like a heart and it features 3 mobile diamonds on the inside. This classy, yet playful, ring is an excellent choice for someone who wouldn’t necessarily pick yellow-gold jewellery thanks to the white diamonds inside offsetting the block yellow colour of the gold.

Winter

The exact opposite of summer – almost no skin is showing during this season, making it difficult to accessorise. However, a pair of earrings which lie flat against the skin can be easy to see and won’t be hidden by scarves or hats.

Ice Cube Earrings

The Chopard Ice Cube collection suits this exact requirement. The elegant segmented design makes way for up to 6 diamonds depending on the personal preference of the wearer.

Caroline Scheufele has been in charge of developing the Ice Cube brand over a long period of time.

In an interview with Prestige magazine, Caroline outlined the changes, “in 1999, when Chopard introduced the Ice Cube collection, it was a minimalist collection, more rock and romantic, between urbanity and modernity. Today Ice Cube Pure is an evolution of the original Ice Cube collection. This trendy line caters to modern, stylish young women with an edgy touch.”

A watch for all seasons

Chopard’s jewellery is built for versatility and elegance above all else whatever the season. Caroline’s Happy Sport line of watches works in all seasons.

The Happy Diamonds collection by Caroline Scheufele has evolved over time with the aim of accommodating women who felt that the Happy Diamonds line in its earlier forms might not have been suitable to their needs.

In a Telegraph interview, Caroline said “the strength of the Happy Sport is that you can wear it all day long, with any outfit, and this is precisely why I designed it.”

If you are looking for a piece of jewellery you can be worn in any season, a Happy Sport watch may be the perfect addition to your collection. To make the most out of your watch, why not consider a simple steel band as a sleek metal finish provides the final touch for any outfit?
