Cape Town police seek witnesses who saw man get knocked over by a taxi

An unknown man was struck by a taxi in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town. He succumbed to his injuries in a nearby hospital.

An unknown man died in the hospital after being knocked over by a taxi in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town, over a weekend in November. The Cape Town police are investigating a case of culpable homicide and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

CAPE TOWN MAN KILLED BY TAXI

According to the police, the incident occurred at approximately 13:19 on Saturday, 5 November.

“Reports suggested that a pedestrian sustained serious injuries when he was knocked over by the driver of a Toyota Quantum near to the intersection of Blue Gum Road and Jakes Gerwel Drive,” said Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi.

The unknown man was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

Bishop Lavis SAPS opened a case of culpable homicide for further investigation.
