Bus crash near Lusikisiki claims 11 lives

Head on collision wipes out most occupants in the taxi which includes two children.

A fatal City to City Bus and minibus taxi crash has claimed 11 lives. The bus, allegedly transporting 18 occupants, was travelling from Lusikisiki and the Minibus, allegedly transporting 16 occupants, was travelling from Flagstaff towards Lusikisiki.

A case of culpable homicide has been opened at Flagstaff police for further investigation.

Two more lives have been lost on South Africa’s roads as a car rolled down an embankment on the R614 near Ballito, killing two occupants.

Two others sustained critical injuries, whilst the third person is yet to be assessed as they were trapped underneath the vehicle.
