Buffalo City Acting City Manager Nceba Ncunyana cheated death after yet another hit on his life.

BUFFALO CITY ACTING MANAGER WANTED DEAD

It’s reported that Ncunyana, who also serves as the Buffalo City Infrastructure director, was shot and wounded in East London in Eastern Cape last Friday, 26 August 2022.

This attack comes less than a year after Ncunyana was reportedly attacked at his house. However, this time, the gunmen came for him in his white Mercedez Benz SUV.

Ncunyana reportedly escaped with a wound to his arm after his car was sprayed with bullets, especially in the rear-view.

It also emerged that in 2017 Nceba Ncunyana received a ‘shocking’ text message giving him five days to quit or face severe punishment.

Could all these assassination attempts be to derail the Buffalo City Acting City Manager’s efforts to curb corruption?

STANCE BY MUNICIPAL MANAGER AGAINST CORRUPTION

On Tuesday, 16 August, during an anti-corruption campaign workshop held at Hemmingways Mall, Ncunyana was quoted making remarks about strategies to tackle corruption.

“The workshop falls under the initiative of the Local Government Anti-Corruption Strategy to curb corruption in our government Departments.”
“The fight against corruption is one of the key pillars and a priority area of our back to basics strategy,” he said.

The workshop which saw various external stakeholders, including the National and Provincial Treasury, COGTA, Office of the Premier, Hawks, and Office of the Public Protector represented, was part of the preventative efforts in the fight against corruption in the public sector, organised by the Buffalo City Metro Risk Management unit.

Observers on social media have weighed their opinions on this shocking matter.
Mokone Toonah said: “Because corruption is rife there, so he is a victim”.

“They eat alone then they kill each other – that’s corruption for you in SA”.
