De Ruyter is appearing before Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts to explain his recent allegations of corruption at Eskom.

Former Eskom CEO, Andre de Ruyter, is appearing before Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) to explain his recent statements about corruption at the power utility.
In a television interview, the former CEO alleged that there was evidence suggesting Eskom was a “feeding trough” for the ANC and that a “high level” politician was involved in corruption.
SCOPA has asked de Ruyter to provide further information. According to reports, in his submission, he has insisted that he took all necessary steps to inform law enforcement of the theft and corruption at Eskom as required by law.
