These guys just don’t care anymore! Yet another worrying video is doing the rounds on Twitter, showing armed men rob a Johannesburg private school in broad daylight.

SCHOOL ROBBERY: ARMED MEN MAKE OFF WITH ELECTRONICS

In the video of the Joburg robbery, first shared by anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee, the three men storm the school and approach a woman, presumed to be the receptionist. While there’s no sound in the clip, its contents speak a thousand words, if not more.

One of the men points his gun at the woman, while taking some items on her desk, including what looks like a tablet. The other two perpetrators then join him behind the receptionist’s desk and rummage through the area, before helping themselves to a laptop and other items.

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time gunmen have targeted a school, of all places, in a robbery. Just months ago, several men gained entry to AB Phokompe High School in Randfontein, Johannesburg, under false pretences. They then robbed staff and made away with laptops.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi, who condemned the incident, said two armed men arrived at the school and claimed to have an appointment with the principal.

“The men held several educators, as well as the principal, hostage. Subsequently, the alleged robbers proceeded to take the personal belongings of the educators and the principal, including items such as cellphones, jewellery, money and five laptops,” Lesufi said at the time.

Crimes, such as robberies, have been a growing concern for the department for quite some time.

“We condemn this cowardly act of targeting our schools by criminal elements in our communities and call on the Randfontein community to assist the police in bringing those responsible to book. We call upon law enforcement to apprehend these suspects and bring them to justice,”
