Horrendous. Utterly, utterly horrendous. Grim footage – uploaded to social media by the Arrive Alive road safety agency – shows the moment a female pensioner in KZN was punched in the head by a robber on Monday.

Anger follows pensioner assault in KZN

The outrage surrounding this incident has left viewers baying for some swift justice. The hooligan in the video has not yet been arrested, but SAPS in Chatsworth are now under tremendous pressure to find him.

In the clip, we see the pensioner ambling on the pavement. A silver Ford Fiesta then pulls up alongside her, with one of the occupants allegedly asking for directions – however, we’re yet to verify the exact nature of the conversation.

However, this was all a rouse. The good-natured victim soon realises something is amiss, when the man sitting on the driver’s side exits the vehicle. He promptly assaults the woman, takes her bag, and punches her twice, knocking the frail old lady to the floor. The car then speeds away, and out of shot from the CCTV cameras.
