Ramaphosa allegedly kicked ‘unprepared’ Mbalula OUT of meeting

Fikile Mbalula has not responded to claims that Cyril Ramaphosa ejected him from a meeting last week – and his critics have piled in.

Fikile Mbalula has failed to confirm or deny reports that he was ejected from a virtual meeting by President Ramaphosa last week, after he allegedly turned up unprepared and unaware of the situation he was briefed for.

Was Fikile Mbalula kicked out of a meeting by Ramaphosa?

The Transport Minister is something of a lightning rod for controversy. His cosy relationship with the Guptas and recent behaviour on Twitter has drawn criticism – but his main detractors are more concerned about his job performance.

Naming himself ‘Mr Fix’, Mbalula clearly believes he is doing a good job. But, if the latest rumblings from Cabinet are correct, Cyril Ramaphosa and his colleagues DO NOT share this view. It’s understood he was booted from the committee meeting, due to complaints about his ‘limited participation’.

It’s also thought that some of Mbaks’ fellow ministers have raised concerns about his capabilities before, and Wednesday’s Zoom call proved to be the straw that broke the camels back – prompting an old ANC foe to revel in their misery.

Mmusi Maimane sticks the boot in

Mmusi Maimane, the former leader of the opposition, branded the Cabinet ‘a bunch of losers’ for failing to deliver on their tasks’. The OneSA founder has questioned how Fikile Mbalula could possibly fix SA’s transport systems, if he ‘cannot adequately prepare’ for committee meetings.

“The Cabinet that the president has chosen and is relying on is not capable of delivering on the tasks at hand. The minister is getting kicked out of meetings for not being adequately prepared. How on earth will he FIX the transport industry? Bunch of losers…”

Is Fikile Mbalula on borrowed time?

Usually vocal on Twitter, Mbalula has been silent in the face of these allegations. He has not yet rejected the version of events presented to the public, and clearly, Maimane’s critique of the matter has touched a nerve.

Mbaks resorted to blocking Maimane on Monday morning:
