Recipients of the R350 grant have been warned that they could struggle to access key SASSA sites in the next few weeks, as the agency takes some of its services offline for essential ICT maintenance.
SASSA informed the public of upcoming ‘downtimes’, from the end of May through to late June. These repairworks will specifically impact R350 grant claimants, who will be asked to avoid visiting their SRD websites AT THESE TIMES:
The next lot of SASSA grants will be made available on Thursday 2 June, and the R350 grant will only come online from Tuesday 7 June. Beneficiaries are therefore advised to check their status before the weekend of the 10 June.
SASSA issued a statement on the matter earlier today, issuing an apology for the inconvenience this work is likely to cause. Disruptions were reported to the service last weekend, and it seems some claimants will have to go through this three more times within the next month.
“Please be informed that ICT will be running a series of Systems and infrastructure maintenance, and this will be a process done over four weekends. The dates will apply for the end of May, and two weekends in June.”
“Beneficiaries should please note that, during these times, the SRD Website will not be available. We apologise for any possible inconvenience this maintenance might cause.”
