After spending four nights in jail, Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla ‘Lux’ Mohlauli (previously known as Dlamini) has been released on bail by the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in Johannesburg.
Mohlauli was arrested on Thursday and faces charges of housebreaking, theft and defeating the ends of justice. This is after a Soweto resident opened a case against him, claiming his home was ransacked by Operation Dudula members who had accused him of selling drugs.
Mohlauli’s case was postponed to 27 May 2022.
Meanwhile, Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema has slammed claims that he is the reason behind Operation Dudula leader, Nhlanhla Lux’s arrest.
In his radio interview with Motsweding FM, Malema insisted that the EFF did not open a case against Nhlanhla Lux. “We just accompanied our member who told us he doesn’t feel safe.”
“As we speak, I am busy at a farm in Limpopo monitoring pregnancy tests of cows. The next thing I hear is that I am the one who called for the arrest of Nhlanhla Lux. Where would I be getting such powers to do that?
“I don’t have time for small boys, and I don’t even want to waste my time on such useless people.”

Addressing scores of his supporters outside court, Mohlauli said when they see EFF members, they should give them a hug because they need it.
