The mother of Luschka Taljaard, who went missing on 5 January, said in a deeply emotional letter that they still don’t know what happened

The Hendrina community was rocked when a mother, Luschka Taljaard, and her son, Daniel went missing from the area on Thursday, 5 January 2023.
Her mother, Ester Zeeman, took to social media to share her feelings on what transpired.

Still no clarity on what went happened in the missing case
Ester Zeeman, the mother of Taljaard posted on Facebook that her heart is broken and that she felt confused and despondent.
She thanked everyone who took the time to search for Taljaard and her four-year-old son and said that it was the longest 48-hours of her life.
Zeeman stated that there were a lot of false reports circulating during that time.
In addressing those who posted hateful messages on the incident, she said that she hoped that what they went through would never happen to them.
Zeeman stated that she found Taljaard in a heap on the floor, she was not able to speak, bewildered and traumatised.
Taljaard’s four-year-old son, Daniel is doing well under the circumstances.
She stated that they still have no idea what transpired on that fateful day and feels like it would take months to process the events.
Zeeman said that the events still constantly replay in her mind, and she is still trying to make sense of it all.
She concluded in thanking everyone for their support and prayers and said that a full report would be released by the family once they know what transpired on the day of Taljaard and her son’s disappearance.
