Morney Vos of Specialised Security Services confirmed that Taljaard did not go missing, but instead chose to disappear with her son Daniel, Middelburg Observer reports.

In CCTV footage, Taljaard can be seen abandoning her vehicle and then entering a silver double cab bakkie with her son and another driver.

Teams are still searching for Taljaard and her son.

In a voice note shared on the Andre Snyman eblockwatch facebook page, Henry Geldenhuis from the Transvaal Landbou Unie (TLU) confirmed that no crime was involved at the stage.

He further said that the investigation is sensitive and that no more information can be divulged.

Geldenhuis did, however, state that Taljaard is safe.

What are the steps to reporting a missing person?

When someone goes missing, it is essential to take steps and start the investigation into the missing person’s case immediately, there is no waiting period.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) shares how to report a missing persons case.
