Man stabbed in alleged home invasion on New Year’s Day
A man was said to be stabbed during a home invasion on New Year’s Day, friends found him almost 15 hours later when doing a wellness check

Emergency services responded to reports of a man that was stabbed during a home invasion in KwaZulu-Natal on New Year’s Day, 1 January 2023.
Man stabbed in alleged home invasion
During an alleged home invasion in Canelands, KwaZulu-Natal, a 24-year-old man was stabbed.
After receiving a call for assistance, members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to a residence on Vincent Dickenson Road at approximately 18:17.
When Reaction Officers arrived, they discovered a man in his bedroom.
He was stabbed in the right shoulder and chest.
According to the victim, four suspects forced their way into his residence at approximately 03:30 the morning. The robbers stabbed him but fled with nothing.
The man allegedly called Emergency Services but received no help.
In the afternoon, his friends learned of the incident and discovered the injured man in his bed during a wellness check. They then sought assistance from RUSA.
Officers from the Reaction Unit inspected the property and discovered no evidence of forced entry.
