Three women and one man were left dead after a mass shooting at a house party in Nomjila Street in Kwazakhele in the early hours of Sunday morning

Four people were killed, and several others were left injured in a mass shooting at a residence Sunday morning, 12 February, in Kwazakhele.

Four killed in mass shooting

Early morning at 00:45, a woman stopped the busy SAPS Kwazakele patrol team and reported a shooting at a house in Nomjila Street in Kwazakhele.

Upon arrival, the team found four people, three women and one man, fatally wounded and several others with injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, six women and five men were partying inside and outside the house.

They were consuming alcohol when three unknown men approached them and started shooting everyone.

The shooting resulted in the death of the house owner, a 28-year-old.

SAPS New Brighton has opened cases for four counts of murder and seven counts of attempted murder.

The motive for the murders remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made yet.

The Provincial Organized Crime Investigation in Gqeberha continues to investigate the case.
