Mbalula says load shedding will be over by December 2023 – we’ll believe it when we see it

ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula said that power cuts would be ‘dealt with decisively’ and reversed by the end of this year.

Load shedding will be dealt with by the end of 2023, according to ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula.

Mbalula says load shedding will be dealt with

The former Minister of Transport made the claim while speaking to eNCA’s JJ Tabane on Power to Truth.

According to Mbalula, the government has a grasp on the electricity crisis and load shedding will be a thing of the past by the end of December 2023.

The way he explained it, this fantastical claim was based on the information and work he had seen the government and ministers do to tackle the crisis.

“I can assure you that load shedding will be reversed, and it will be dealt with decisively,” said Mbalula.

Stage 6 power cuts

Despite Mbalula’s assurances, Stage 6 power cuts currently grip South Africa during the evening peak hours, and there does not appear to be an end in sight.

According to MyBroadBand, the load shedding in the first four months of 2023 has exceeded the entirety of 2022 and things are expected to become worse during the coming winter.
