Limpopo transport MEC to expedite report on bus crash that claimed 21 lives

Once the accident report is finalised, victims or their families will be able to make claims from the Road Accident Fund.

The Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani, visited hospitals where patients involved in the devastating bus crash in Makhado were being treated on Tuesday, 14 February.

LIMPOPO MEC TO EXPEDITE FATAL BUS CRASH REPORT

As previously reported, a bus heading from Louis Trichardt to villages in the Vhembe District collided with a cash van on the N1 Highway on Monday night. The bus rolled off the bridge and landed in a river – at least 21 people were killed and several more were injured.

Radzilani established that 19 people died at the scene, and two more passed away in the hospital. “She also used the opportunity to interact with the families of the injured to extend warm words of comfort and encouragement,” said the provincial department.

Radzilani committed to ensuring that her department expedites the conclusion of the accident report, which will allow the victims to make claims from the Road Accident Fund.
