‘Leaders can be changed’: Zuma issues strong warning for Ramaphosa

Are you listening, Mr. Ramaphosa? With an ANC elective conference due next year, Jacob Zuma sounded like a man seeking revenge on Thursday.

Oh hello… did somebody order the highest grade of ANC beef? The former president has taken a pot-shot at his successor on Thursday, after Jacob Zuma made his feelings about Cyril Ramaphosa crystal clear.

Zuma warns Ramaphosa ‘he can be replaced’

Although Msholozi did not mention Cyril by name, he repeatedly swiped for the current leadership. Zuma was adamant that the current direction of the party ‘does not represent classic ANC values’, and even went as far as to claim his replacement is happy to destroy the 109-year-old organisation, so voters take their support elsewhere…

2022 Elective Conference ‘will decide ANC future’ – as well as Ramaphosa’s

The less-than-subtle digs were made during a virtual address at a prayer event in KZN. Jacob Zuma, who could only speak to crowds via a video link due to the terms of his house arrest, said he WOULD give his backing to the ANC in the upcoming Local Elections. The ballot boxes will open on Monday 1 November.

However, uBaba is certainly not a fan of the party’s top brass right now – and he’s already courting the winds of change, perhaps with one eye on the ANC’s next elective conference in 2022.

“Some people often mistake the behaviour of the incumbent leadership to be the behaviour of the ANC. Others mistake misbehaving individuals for the ANC. I want to underline that you and I, we are the ANC, the ANC is us.

“If the leaders are not leading correctly, are not implementing the decisions that membership takes – deal with that issue. Leaders can be changed if there is a need to change them in order to maintain the organisation.” | Jacob Zuma
