Constable allegedly guns down wife and her two siblings

The incident occurred following a domestic dispute, with the 37-year-old Constable now facing three counts of murder.

A South African Police Service (SAPS) Constable allegedly shot and killed his wife and two of her siblings on Saturday, 29 April. The deadly incident followed a dispute in the marriage.

According to reports, the 37-year-old suspect is attached to the Masoyi SAPS. He and his wife were having a family meeting, including his wife’s sister and brother, on Saturday following a dispute.

“When things did not go the suspect’s way, he decided to go fetch his service pistol and fatally shot the three family members, including his wife,” said Acting Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson Robbie Raburabu.

After the shooting, IPID was summoned to the scene in Kamajika Trust near Sabie Sand, Mpumalanga, where the Constable was arrested and detained.

He is expected to face three counts of murder in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 2 May.
