Constantia mass shooting victim wanted for murder in Bulgaria

A victim of the Constantia mass shooting was reportedly wanted in Bulgaria for various offences, including murder.

One of the Constantia mass shooting victims was wanted in Bulgaria for various offences, including murder, according to local media reports out of the European country.

Red Notice out for Constantia murder victim

As previously reported, the South African Police Service (SAPS) discovered four bullet-ridden bodies in Cape Town on Thursday morning, 25 May.

“At around 08:20, the bodies of two females and two males, estimated to be aged between 40 and 50, were discovered with gunshot wounds. The victims are believed to be of Bulgarian descent,” said South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut.

According to reports, the victims were Krasimir Kamenov, his wife, child and their babysitter. An Interpol Red Notice was issued for Kamenov at the end of April.

He was wanted in Sofia, Bulgaria, in connection with the public murder of Lyubomir Ivanov, a former Ministry of Internal Affairs employee. The murder occurred at the start of 2022.

Motive for shooting yet to be established

According to the Interpol Red Notice, Kamenov was wanted on charges of “murder threat”, murder and extortion.

SAPS said the motive for the murder has yet to be established. Serious and Violent Crime detectives are on the case.
