A 35-year-old woman found stabbed to death in Addo

Police are investigating the murder of a 35-year-old woman who was stabbed to death in Addo on Saturday evening.

THE WOMAN WAS FOUND OUTSIDE HER FLAT

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracking the suspects and tracing the next of kin of the murdered woman, who is Lesotho national.

“On Saturday evening, at about 19:30, police were summoned to a house in Notshoba Street, Nomathamsanqa (Addo), after the landlady found one of her tenants lying dead outside her flat with stab wounds in the upper body.

“It is said that the 35-year-old Lesotho national was sharing a flat with her boyfriend (also a Lesotho national), who has since disappeared.”

A case of murder is under investigation.

Meanwhile, a wife was arrested after she killed her husband after a fight at a farewell function in Butterworth, Eastern Cape.

According to police spokesperson Captain Siphokazi Mawisa the woman hit her husband with an empty bottle, and he fell down. He was declared dead on the scene.

“The 47-year-old woman was arrested for the murder that occurred on Thursday night.”
The woman was arrested for murder and will appear in Butterworth Magistrate Court on Tuesday, 10 August 2021.


The Acting Amathole District Commissioner Brigadier condemns such acts as SAPS is fighting the scourge in Gender-based violence cases.

“This sends a strong message to victims of violence to speak out to avoid being involved in crimes where they will be arrested and be behind bars,” he added.
