The buzz around First Thursdays has spread, and Braamfontein comes to life the first Thursday night of each month. The Neighbourgoods Market offers a variety of delicious food to pick from and then of course there’s the main attraction: art galleries and studios around Brammies showcasing contemporary artwork, photography, and some who host poetry evenings as well as live music.

True to the region, afro soul, jazz and house music dominate the decks..
The real street culture fashionistas come out in full force with entourages of photographers, bloggers and social media influencers.

The event is also a wonderful opportunity for aspiring musicians, artists and fashion designers to launch their brand and show fellow Joburgers their art. Whether you call it #PhuzaThursday or just an night out with friends, First Thursday Braamfontein is just one more awesome reason to call Joburg home.
