Bolt driver BRUTALLY murdered by killer passengers in Eersterust

A Bolt driver was murdered by passengers who pretended to be clients requesting a ride to Eersterust in the East of Pretoria on Friday evening.

PASSENGERS PRETENDED TO BE CLIENTS

This e-hailing driver was viciously attacked by passengers who pretended to be clients and murdered.

Before the murder, the killer passengers requested a Bolt driver to take them from Garsfontein to Eersterust, police spokesperson Warrant Officer Sam Shibambo said in a statement.

“The victim allegedly received a request to take some passengers from Garsfontein to Eersterust. He picked up the passengers in his silver Volkswagen polo, hatchback.”

Shibambo said.

MURDERED DRIVER TRANSPORTED HIS KILLERS

The murdered Bolt driver transported the killer passengers to Eersterust, and on arrival in Eersterust, the passengers robbed him of his belongings and stabbed him in the upper body.

The Bolt driver managed to drive away and managed to get as far as George Hood Street.

Members of the community who saw him in distress called the police.

THE VICTIM MADE A STATEMENT TO THE POLICE

When the police arrived, the victim narrated his ordeal, and an ambulance was called.

The Bolt driver, unfortunately, died of his injuries on arrival at the hospital.

Eersterust police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Simon Matshwane Theledi has “condemned the senseless killing of the Bolt driver”.

He ordered the branch commander of the detectives to launch a manhunt for the killers and asked community members who know the whereabouts of the suspects or who witnessed the attack to come forward.

THE BOLT DRIVER DIED ON ARRIVAL AT THE HOSPITAL

Police are investigating the murder of the Bolt driver and hope to make an arrest soon.

Theledi said the killers of the Bolt Driver are also robbing the community of essential services.

Meanwhile, the Eersterust police have warned Uber and Bolt drivers to stay alert and be vigilant when picking up or dropping off passengers in Eersterust.

Shibambo said in a similar case last year, a driver received a request to pick up a passenger in Eersterust. On arrival, the driver was attacked, robbed, and stabbed by the supposed passengers, he said.
