A Limpopo policeman has found body parts in Mantstole while driving on the N1 from Pretoria on Tuesday 28 December.

BODY PARTS FOUND IN MANTSOLE, LIMPOPO

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has confirmed it is investigating a murder case of culpable homicide. This followed after a SAPS member discovered an unknown man’s body parts on a road in Mantsole.

“It is alleged that on Tuesday at about 8pm on the N1 near Mantsole weighbridge, a sergeant from protection and security services, who protect dignitaries and government interests, was on duty in full uniform and driving from Pretoria after dropping off colleagues who knocked off duty,” said Ipid spokesperson Grace Langa.

“He was going back to where he was deployed.”

The cop first thought he had bumped into an animal but turned back to find what he was least expecting.

AFRICAN MALE’S HEAD AND LEG

The SAPS officer confirmed that he realized the subject was in fact not an animal. It was an African male’s body parts on the Mantsole road.

The policeman first confirmed a human head before spotting a leg that did not have a foot.

“He discovered several body parts of an unknown African male scattered on the side of the road and reported the matter to relevant stakeholders.”

“The search for other body parts continues. The deceased’s identity is not yet known. Investigations are continuing,” Langa concluded.
