Bernard Habana, the father of a former Springbok star, is allegedly in trouble with the law, again. According to the Gauteng police, he was arrested and appeared in court on the same day.

BERNARD HABANA ARRESTED FOR FRAUD

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Dimaketso Sello confirmed to The South African that Habana Senior was arrested on Monday, 30 May.

He appeared before the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on a charge of fraud on the same day, added Sello.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said, “the docket was not brought to the prosecution” on Monday or Tuesday.

In 2018, Bernard and mining mogul Atang Sesegolo Makgekgenene were accused of stealing more than R1 million from the director of Kwanza General Trading, Nancy Karimi.

At the time, Habana told Sunday World that the matter had nothing to do with him.

According to City Press, Bryan Habana fired his father as his business manager in 2010 because he was stealing from him.

In 2013, it was revealed, in an affidavit by Bryan’s mother Faith, that the rugby legend had not spoken to his father in more than three years – at the time.
