As China bans the Burqa, their media blames Western colonialism for the Charlie Hebdo tragedy
According to a state-run Chinese newspaper, the slaughter at Charlie Hebdo in Paris is payback for slavery and colonialism — but they make no mention of the Chinese government’s systematic violation of Muslim people’s rights such as banning the Burqa –.
No surprises here then, a nation that has institutionalised human rights abuses and systematically eradicates any form of free speech, has come out swinging in the wrong direction as per.
Incidentally, China has banned Muslim women from wearing the burqa in their most densely populated Islamic province, Xinjiang. That same province prohibits people who are wearing a hajib, turban or who even just have a big beard from using public transport. Students and civil servants in Xinjiang are also prevented from fasting for Ramadaan.
Well now, look at the communist pot calling the kettle black. Yesterday, China’s official news agency, Xinhua said that the Charlie Hebdo shooting “should not be simplified as attacks on press freedom, for even the freedom itself has its limits, which does not include insulting, sneering or taunting other people’s religion or beliefs.”
They went on to say that even a 1.4 million strong protest — like that we’ve seen in Paris over the weekend — would do little to alleviate this mess.
Man oh man if only our government could spin BS like they do over there. Oh wait, didn’t Jacob Zuma praise China for it’s influence in Africa not two months ago… perhaps he’s taking lessons from the commies now.
Anyway, it’s seriously rich of them to criticize Western nations when they regularly execute dissenters.
