Ronnie Kasrils reveals Khwezi told him she'd been raped by Jacob Zuma

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – AUGUST 31: Former Intelligence Minister Ronnie Kasrils during an interview on August 31, 2016 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Kasrils says he fears for his life after he openly criticized President Jacob Zuma and asked the country to support Pravin Gordhan

Currently drowing in a sea of allegations from The President’s Keepers and  “The Kanga and the Kangaroo Court”, Jacob Zuma has again been implicated for rape. This time, it’s by Ronnie Kasrils.

The shocking claim comes from A Simple Man – Kasrils and the Zuma Enigma. The book is due for release this week, and its author has a very personal connection to the ANC leader.

Kasrils is an ANC veteran and former intelligence minister that worked alongside JZ at the turn of the century. Chapter 13 of this work details a call he received from Fezekile Ntsukela Kuzwayo – the woman at the centre of The Kanga.

The author details how “Khwezi”, who died last year after a long fight against HIV, phoned Kasrils to break news of the incident to him. From this extract, serialised in TimesLive, we see just how brave Kuzwayo was when reporting the incident:

‘Khwezi’ reports her rape to Ronnie Kasrils

‘Uncle Ronnie‚ Jacob Zuma has raped me‚’ was the call received on my mobile phone. The woman added‚ ‘This is Fezeka.’ My body geared to the shock as though someone was pointing a gun at me: blood ran cold‚ neck hairs prickled‚ throat turned dry‚ mind stuttered.’

– ‘Jacob Zuma raped me last night.’

– ‘Where?’

– ‘At his house in Forest Town. I visited for dinner and he invited me to stay the night. And he raped me.’

– ‘But did anyone see that? Do you have a witness?’ I almost blurted‚ and immediately felt stupid‚ for I was struggling to comprehend.

– ‘No‚’ she said‚ still keeping remarkably calm. ‘The others were all asleep‚ including his daughter. We all had dinner together. He invited me to see him after that in his room‚ for a chat. And he raped me.’

– ‘Have you seen a doctor? Are you OK‚ eh‚ like any injuries?’

– ‘No physical harm to speak of‚ but he forced himself on me.’

– ‘The doctor gave you a full examination and you’re OK?’

– ‘Am OK. But I am angry.’

Another book implicating a Zuma rape incident

Kasrils will be discussing more about his book at an event in Johannesburg this evening. The explosive information is a lot to digest, and if Ronnie is telling the truth here, then Jacob Zuma is an abhorrent monster.
