They started with more the 50 potential candidates and finally, parliament’s ad hoc committee has chosen the person who they want to take over from Adv. Thuli Madonsela in October.
Most of the MPs on the ad hoc committee were in agreement that Mkhwebane is the best candidate for the job, listing her impeccable character, experience and ‘guts’.
The committee praised her for her broad range of skills, international experience and at the end of the day she was the last person standing, ready to step into Thuli Madonsela’s shoes.
Now that the committee has selected Adv. Mkhwebane, MPs in the National Assembly have to vote and she needs a minimum of 60% of the vote to officially become our new PP.
