ANC congratulates “well-oiled machine of the DA” for taking Western Cape
A very sportsman-like Xolani Sotashe congratulated the Democratic Alliance for not only keeping control of the Western Cape, but also taking two traditionally ANC-controlled municipalities as well.
The ruling party told EWN that it’s time to go back to the drawing board, analyse results and plan a way forward in the Western Cape DA stronghold.
This year’s election strengthened the official opposition’s standing in the province by taking control of the Beaufort West and Berg River municipalities, previously held by the ANC.
The ANC congratulated the DA on holding the fort, adding that the Alliance had pulled out all the stops in this year’s Local Government Elections.
“We were really fighting a very powerful, well-oiled machine of the Democratic Alliance,” said the ANC’s mayoral candidate for Cape Town, Xolani Sotashe.
Now that’s what you want to see in politics… good sportsmanship.
