The African National Congress (ANC) has blamed the DA-led coalition amid cholera outbreak in Hamanskraal, City of Tshwane

At least 15 people have died of the disease thus far.

ANC SAYS THE DA DOES NOT WANT TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY

“The ANC is disappointed by the DA’s half-hearted cooperation. Instead of joining hands with the provincial and national governments to deal with the tragedy, the DA has resorted to their typical and defensive buck-passing and finger-pointing exercises without accepting responsibility.

“We urge the DA to take responsibility for their failure to provide water fit for humans and commit to addressing the problem,” said the ANC.

HAMANSKRAAL WATER TESTS NEGATIVE FOR CHOLERA

The City of Tshwane says results from sampling testing taken from multiple sites around Temba and Hammanskraal pertaining to tracing the cholera outbreak came back negative.

The municipality said multiple reservoirs, fire hydrants, primary schools, clinics and other locations that receive water from the Temba Treatment Plant were tested.

Though the water tested negative, that does not mean that the water is safe to drink because it is treated heavily with Chlorine.
