While there has been an outpour of support for actor Alec Baldwin after he accidentally shot dead one woman on a film set, others are not so sympathetic and want him to face justice.

Baldwin was busy with production of the western film ‘Rust’ in New Mexico on Thursday when he fired a “prop gun”, killing 42-year-old Halyana Hutchins, who was a cinematographer. The film’s director, 48-year-old Joel Souza was also shot and was taken to hospital for his injuries. While an investigation into the incident is still underway, a union which represents prop masters claims the accident allegedly occurred after a live bullet was mistakenly loaded into the gun.

Right-wing filmmaker wants Alec Baldwin arrested

According to the Santa Fe Sheriff’s office, Alec Baldwin has not been charged for the incident, however documentary and film producer Errol Webber wants that to change. Judging by his social media commentary, Webber a staunch Republican and isn’t shy about letting his views be heard.

“Hopefully Alec Baldwin gets manslaughter at the very least. But knowing the Democrats and their penchant for protecting criminals, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets off with 10 hours of community service,” Webber said on Twitter.

His tweet was accompanied by a comment Baldwin made back in September 2017 which said: “I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone…”
